Who has already made their haircut appointment for March 1?! To celebrate hairdressers re-opening in Germany – which is hopefully a positive sign that more will be opening up soon – we’re sharing a recipe to dress up your brownies, or give them a new ‘do if you will. 😊 This creamy peanut butter frosting recipe is the perfect complement to our Gluten-free Double-Chocolate Brownies. It’s like a homemade peanut butter cup! It is also great on chocolate cupcakes - use this recipe & switch out the Raspberry Cream for Peanut Butter Frosting instead. Or double the recipe & deck out a whole chocolate cake with it!

Peanut Butter Frosting

Quantity: sufficient frosting to cover 16 brownies

100 g butter, softened to room temperature

100g smooth peanut butter*

62 g powdered sugar, more or less to taste

*we recommend using the “American” kind for this. All-natural options are not soft or moist enough to create a spreadable frosting!

  1. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter & peanut butter together until fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  • Pro tip: the butter needs to be softened to create a smooth frosting. We recommend taking your butter out of the fridge 1-2 hours before using it. The consistency should be soft enough to leave a dent when you push into it but not so soft that is getting runny.
  • Use a sieve to sift the icing sugar to remove the lumps & add it in several batches, mixing well after each addition. Taste it as you add it & go for less if you like your frosting less sweet, more if the other way around 😊
  • Spread over your brownies after they have cooled & before cutting them!
  • Wanna give this recipe a try but not sure what to use it on? Order one of our Gluten-Free Double-Chocolate Brownie Baking Kits & we promise, the result will not disappoint!
